Q1: Should I write Kanji to remember?
A: Yes, because if you write, you are able to remember correctly the small
parts that make up the kanji character. However, it takes more time to
practice writing rather than just to memorize their readings. Recently
many people don’t write Kanji characters because they only choose the correct
characters by converting them as enter it in a PC.
So, depending on your needs,
・If you have time, write to memorize the characters.
・If you don’t have to write, memorize the readings only.
Q2: How many times should I write to remember?
A: 5 to 10 times will be enough.
Q3: Any tips to memorize without writing?
A: It is important to repeat the process by testing yourself. Cover the
reading part with a sheet of paper or with your hand, and see if you remembered
them properly.
Q4: What should I do to not to forget the Kanji that I have remembered?
A: Everybody forgets after some time. The point is to continue reviewing.
Please get in the habit of reviewing by making your own word cards or Kanji
notebook, or using some apps for smartphones etc.
